Races and sports events: Wernigerode

Wernigerode sits on the northern edge of the Harz mountains, and many events make use of them. The Harzquerung in April crosses the Harz for about 53 km to Nordhausen, as a run or a hike, and HarzGravel in April offers 66 or 100 km at the foot of the Brocken. Autumn and winter bring the Armeleuteberg hill run and the Wernigerode New Year's Eve run, and summer a family obstacle race in Schierke.
