Races and sports events: Nürnberg

Nuremberg is a good base for endurance sport in Franconia: the Wöhrder See and the Pegnitz meadows offer flat running loops in the middle of the city, and about 30 kilometres south, Challenge Roth is one of the best-known long-distance triathlons in the world. Franconian Switzerland to the north, with its hills and rocks, is terrain for trail running, mountain biking and road cycling.
