Races and sports events: Magdeburg

Magdeburg is the start of some very long formats: two self-supported cycling ultras start here, Peaks & Plains zigzagging over the Harz summits and Rooted Secrets over 777 km, and the Ultra Walk in the Herrenkrug park covers 100 km. In June the Meißen-Magdeburg-Mammut-Marathon, a two-day stage paddle on the Elbe for kayaks and folding boats, finishes here. The calendar also includes the Magdeburg New Year's Eve run and obstacle races at the horse racing track in late summer.
