Races and sports events: Garmisch-Partenkirchen

Garmisch-Partenkirchen is above all a trail running town. In April the GaPa Vertical and GaPa Trail start at the Olympic ski stadium, and in May the Everesting Festival on the Eckbauer offers 8,848 metres of climbing solo or as a relay. The highlight is the Zugspitz Ultra Trail in June, part of the UTMB World Series around the Zugspitze massif, with routes from 16 to 167 km.
