Races and sports events: Dresden

In Dresden many events follow the Elbe: the Oberelbe Marathon in spring runs from Königstein in Saxon Switzerland to Dresden, and the Dresden Marathon through the old town follows in October. The Elbe cycle route is one of Germany's best-known bike routes, and the Dresdner Heide forest and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains offer trails with real climbing.
