Races and sports events: Dortmund

Dortmund lies between the Ruhr area and the Sauerland: popular running loops lead around the Phoenix-See and through the Rombergpark, and in the south of the city the hilly Ardey range drops down to the Ruhr and its riverside cycle route. The Sauerland, with mountain runs and cycling marathons, is close by.
